These healthy Summer drink recipes will help your waistline this Summer. Plus, an added bonus of less sugaryhealthy summer drink recipes drinks they lead to lesser hangovers.

Beverages containing both alcohol and sugar are the leading cause of a bad hangover. Sugary beverages like sodas, sweet & sour mix, energy drinks, and sweetened liquors are the kind of drinks that amplify hangovers. The organ in the body responsible for metabolising sugars is the liver, which is also the same organ that processes alcohol. This major workload can cause much stress on the liver, not to mention alcohol alone can negatively impact blood sugar levels.

Skinnier Margarita
Typically Margaritas are close to 400 calories, here is a way to cut the calories by more than half
1 oz Premium tequila½ oz Grand Marnier or other orange flavoured liqueur (triple sec)
1 ½ oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
Shake with ice and then strain over a glass with fresh ice
Garnish with a lime wheel and salt (optional)

Cucumber Cocktail
Great light, refreshing cocktail
Muddle a few slices of fresh cucumber and mint leaves add a squeeze of lime(s)
1 ½ oz premium vodka or gin (Cucumber vodka or Hendricks Gin are wonderful)
4 oz club soda
You can add some sugar substitute to sweeten the drink

A classic with a healthy twist
1 ½ oz premium vodka
2 oz fresh squeezed orange juice
2 oz club soda
You can sub out a juice of your preference if you desire

Blueberry Breeze
Delicious with the added bonus on antioxidant-rich blueberries 
Muddle a dozen or so fresh blueberries
1 ½ premium vodka
Squeeze of lemon Shake with ice
Top with club soda
